“How many countries have you been to?”

We made a clickable spreadsheet to track it for ourselves – and now we are giving it away to you, for free.

Keeping track of where you have been is a task that, while enjoyable, only gets harder as you keep traveling.

This deceptively simple spreadsheet will help you with your own count while you are out on your own Worldwide Treasure Hunt.

All you have to do is click the checkboxes of where you’ve gone, and the spreadsheet will do all the math for you and give you the results on an easy to read dashboard.

There are two tabs with different methods for you to measure.

  • The straightforward UN list of Countries, with 195 destinations, mostly used by those attempting to visit every country on Earth
  • The Comprehensive Country Count, which includes territories like Bermuda, Easter Island, and American Samoa, and other notable variations like the Greek Islands, Bali, and Bir Tawil, for a total of 322 destinations.

Use one or both, the choice is yours.

As a bonus, we’ve included separate tabs to also track the following, if you are interested:

  • Continents visited
  • US States
  • 17 Ancient Wonders of the World
  • 17 Natural Wonders of the World
  • 17 Modern Wonders of the World
  • Plus a BONUS category for you to fill out and count whatever you want (up to 100 entries) – you can check off Oceans and Seas, Mountains, Top Beaches, or whatever else you’d like to track

This is available as a Google Sheets Template OR as an Excel Template, and instructions on how to access and get your own copy will be sent to you by email.

You’ll never get stumped again when people ask. Happy counting!

Here are some screenshots of what the spreadsheet looks like partially filled out.
